Citizens for Planned Growth is now collecting signatures on a petition to place the Initiative on the Johnson Drive Economic Development Zone on the November 8 General Election Ballot.

Signatures are being collected at the following locations:
- Black Tie Transportation, 7080 Commerce Drive (at the corner of Johnson Drive)
- Shell Station, Hopyard Road at Owens Drive
- Shell Station, Santa Rita at Pimlico
- And at tables that will be set up at major events and public places all over Pleasanton.
Once the required number of signatures from Pleasanton registered voters have been obtained, the petition will be submitted to the City Council for placement on the ballot. People can then vote “Yes” to have the General Plan changed to limit retailers in the Johnson Drive Economic Development Zone to 50,000 square feet or less, or “No” to allow a big box store to be built in the zone.
